What are the common engine failures

2022-12-16

As we all know, the car engine is one of the most important engines, so it is not easy to fail at ordinary times, so once there is a failure, it is quite serious. When the engine is not working normally but the self-diagnosis system does not output the fault code, it is especially necessary to rely on the operator's detection and judgment to determine the nature and location of the fault. So today, the car editor needs to give you a brief introduction to the common problems of car engines and troubleshooting methods. Let's take a look with the car editor.

(1) Fault phenomenon: open the ignition switch, turn the ignition switch to the starting position, the engine will not start.

(2) Possible causes of failure:

A. The engine cannot run or runs too slowly due to the failure of the starting system :① the battery power is insufficient, the electrode pile fixture is lifted or the electrode pile is seriously oxidized; ② The main fuse of the circuit is blown; ③ Ignition switch failure; (4) starter failure; ⑤ The starting line is disconnected or the line connector is in poor contact.

B. Ignition system failure :① ignition coil working poorly, produce weak or no high pressure spark; (2) igniter failure; ③ The ignition time is not good.

C. Fuel injection system failure :① there is no fuel in the car tank; ② Fuel pump does not work or pump oil pressure is too low; (3) Fuel pipe leakage deformation; ④ The circuit breaker is off; (5) Fuel pressure regulator is not working well; ⑥ Fuel filter is too dirty.

D. Intake system failure :① idle regulating valve or its regulating circuit failure; (2) idle speed regulating valve air pipe fracture or joint leakage; ③ The air flow meter is faulty.

E. The electronic control unit is faulty.

Due to the high temperature of the engine, the wires around it tend to burn or scorch, giving off a pungent smell. You can also apply a lot of grease in the maintenance process, which will play the odor of the engine temperature rise. If you notice a pungent smell or burning smell while the car is running, stop the car immediately, check for softening or burning wires around the engine, and immediately repair burnt or short-circuited wires to prevent a bigger safety accident. After removing the circuit fault, there is still an odor. We should consider whether the oil is attached to the engine surface, foreign body volatilization or hot combustion.
